Disney's Toy Story 3 on Ice

For Gabriella's birthday last month, Aunt Bridget got the two of them tickets to see Toy Story 3 on Ice. The show was Friday afternoon and Adriana and Mommy went along, too. We all had so much fun!

We sat fairly close to the ice so we saw all of the characters up close. Here's a good shot of Jessie and Woody singing and dancing.

We had a great time and would love to see another Disney show on ice again! Thanks Aunt Bridget for treating Gabby to a fun afternoon!

Back into the swim of things...

Yesterday Adriana had her very first private swim lesson and Gabriella had her first lesson of the year. Gabby of course loved it, and as expected, Adriana didn't enjoy it much. Like Gabby when she began private lessons, Adriana cried and fussed most of the time in the water. But, after a few more lessons, Adriana will begin to understand what her instructor is teaching her and hopefully will enjoy her time in and under the water.

  Gabriella's lesson was first so that Adriana could watch her swim. Gabby loved all aspects of her lesson.

She is doing very well with her strokes and kicks. She loves to jump and dive into the water, too.

Adriana had fun watching Gabby swim. We had to keep her away from the pool's edge because she wanted to get in and play. But, little did she know that she would be put under the water and on her back - things she hasn't done before. (Check out her red toenails - Daddy painted them a few days before. She watched Daddy paint Gabby's toenails and fingernails and demanded to be part of the fun. They turned out really cute!)

Adriana's first time doing a back float. Her instructor is teaching her this survival technique so that if she was ever unexpectedly in water and could not swim, or became fatigued while in water, she would know to turn to her back and float. It's so awesome to watch infants and babies learn these techniques at such a young age.

This one is so cute - her bottom is floating while her head is submerged. Adriana did very well for her first lesson. The girls have more lessons in the upcoming weeks. We'll post more photos again so you can see their progress.

This was part of our Friday Night Fun! The girls really love bath time! The admiration in Adriana's look is priceless. Such an adoring little sister!

So what have these cutie pies been up to lately?

Gabriella: She is growing up way too quickly and is wise beyond her years. She talks our ears off and is very expressive and dramatic. She is definitely a preschooler - toddlerhood is well behind her. Academically, she is doing wonderfully. She knows all her letters (upper and lower case) and their sounds. She is sounding out three letter words - she is well on her way to reading, which is so exciting since she just turned 4 years old. She stays busy with preschool 2 days a week, dance/gymnastics and private swim lessons. She remains very lovable, artistic and enthusiastic!

Adriana: I don't know where to start! At 17 months old, she is all toddler! She is into everything and loves walking and running after her sister. She is also talking very well. She can say at least 100 different words and is starting to put two word phrases together. She will repeat just about any word we say to her. She loves books, dogs and playing outside. She will start private swim lessons soon and remains a sweet, easy going (for the most part - tantrums have started) and lovable little girl!
