Showstopper Dance Competition

Last weekend Adriana and Gabby competed at Showshopper with their team. They all did very well! Several Double Platinum Awards and first place finishes. Two of Gabby's dances earned Crystal Awards which are near perfect scores. Adriana's hip hop dance earned first overall in it's division and Gabby's contemporary large group earned first overall and a Crystal. Gabby's solo placed 9th overall. It was an extremely competitive solo division with a tenth of a point separating many of the placements.

5th Grade Revolutionary Wax Museum

The 5th graders hosted their Revolutionary War Wax Museum today and it was impressive. All of the students chose a person, event or document from the Revolutionary time period and then wrote a report and memorized it to share with all the Museum attendees. They also created a poster board. Families, administrators, staff, teachers and students from all the different grades attended.

Dance Competitions - Showbiz & Hall of Fame

Dance competition season is officially underway! Gabby competed her solo a couple weeks ago at Showbiz and placed 1st overall with a Platinum award.

This passed weekend both girls competed along with the entire studio at the Hall of Fame competition and did very well. The girls' group dances received several first overall placements and Platinum awards. Despite it not being her best performance, Gabby placed 5th overall with her solo.

First Lady/President's Day Program

Today the second graders hosted their First Lady/President's Day Program for parents and families. Adriana was so excited to be Hillary Clinton. She enjoyed researching and learning about this influential and inspiring international leader. Adriana said her entire report with clarity and confidence. We are so proud of her!

Adriana's First Reconciliation

We are so proud of Adriana for receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation. She had been waiting for this day with excitement and a bit of anxiety this last year. She has been so mature and intentional as she prepared to receive this important gift from God. Here are some photos from today:

Christina's 5th Birthday Party - Pancakes & Pajamas!

This morning we celebrated Christina's 5th birthday in our pajamas with a house full of friends while eating pancakes and donuts -- two of Christina's favorite foods!

This week is Catholic Schools Week and today, on her birthday, was "dress up like a character" day. So she dressed up as the cutest Mini Mouse ever!

Gabriella's First Semi-Formal Dinner and Dance

Gabby has been participating in a program all year called Expeditions in Etiquette. She has learned  how to conduct yourself in certain social situations and the proper way to partner dance. At the end of the program there is a semi-formal dinner and dance where the students put together much of what they have learned. It was a real treat to witness a small portion of this evening.

We had a lot of fun dress shopping together. She looked beautiful. Growing up too fast!

Parents were invited to arrive at the end so we could watch them dance. It was pretty cute.

Adriana participated in the CK Middle School's production of Peter Pan, Jr. and she did wonderfully. This girl loves to sing and be on stage!

Basketball

Gabby & Adriana are playing basketball again this winter with their CK classmates. It's been a season with lots of fun and learning. We are proud of their effort!

JUMP - Kansas City

Gabby attending JUMP Kansas City convention and competition last weekend. She had a great time learning choreography from the best in the business. She also competed her open solo, "Conga" and placed 6th overall against impressive competition. She was also one of three dancers in her age group awarded JUMP VIP. Way to go, Gabby!
