Christina's 2nd Birthday Party

Today was Christina's Gymnastics & Minion-themed Birthday Party! She absolutely loves Minions and the Despicable Me movies. She had a fun time but her teeth and mouth were still hurting her so she had her fussy moments off and on throughout the day. But, I still managed to get some good photos from the party and the festiviites.

This invite turned out really cute!
In the morning, before her party, we had her open gifts from family. Her sisters got her a ballerina dress up outfit. She loves to go to the dance studio and watch the her big sisters as well as practice dancing with them at home. Nonna  & G-Pa got her clothes, shoes, rain boots and swim suits for the spring and summer. We bought her a gymnastics outfit for her party and a minion t-shirt. (She opted her to wear the shirt to her party and it was super cute.) We also got her Minion panties (we get all the girls panties for their second birthdays as we encourage potty training in their third year), a Curious George book and a Crayola craft set.

Party Time!

I had two of her favorite things combined - donuts and Minions! :)

The gym is big and full of fun things to do!
The trampoline had "Happy 2nd Birthday!" written on it with chalk.
Hearing the instructions before the fun began. Gabby's face expresses her surprise when she found out the party attendant had the same name as me. Ha!

Gabby flying into the foam pit!
Way to go, Adriana!
In the foam pit with David. Christina really loves being with her Daddy. They have a very special bond.
Running in the hoops. Go, Christina, go!
Lunch time!
Time to sing "Happy Birthday." She got a little upset at this part so big sister Gabby helped her get through it and blow out the candles. The lyrics "It's my party and I'll cry if I want to" were pretty fitting at that moment. :)

Our family after the party.
So glad Nonna could be here for the celebrations. It made the week so much more fun!
After dinner, we sang "Happy Birthday" with our homemade chocolate cake with pudding filling (Daddy's special touch.)
Yum!
In the evening we also opened up gifts from her party.
It was a fun and busy birthday party day! Christina had good time despite not feeling all that well. We feel so blessed to have such a polite and fun-loving 2-year old! Happy Birthday, Christina Mary!

Christina's 2nd Birthday!

Happy Birthday to our sweet, lovable and tender-hearted Christina Mary! I truly cannot believe she has reached this milestone. We no longer have a baby in our house, which I find bittersweet. The sweet part is it means we have survived babyhood 3 times now and our family is growing up, but at the same time, it's bitter because the years of innocence and wonder are limited in a sense. :(

Overall, she had a good day. She is getting over sickness. Her morning and afternoon were good but in the evening she started to get fussy and fell asleep at dinner. Come to find out she is teething now. Poor girl can't catch a break! Gift opening and cake will have to wait until tomorrow. Nonna is in town this next week to celebrate with us, too. Christina had some good one-on-one time with her today.

Here are some photos from her birthday:

She loves donuts!
We went to lunch at Panera and she was treated to a cupcake.

I love this picture!
At dinner tonight, she fell asleep. In her defense we had a later dinner (at Ti Amo's), but I think the week of fighting sickness and teething caught up with her.
When we got home, she woke up and we thought a bath might be fun. So we put her and the big yellow ducky in the tub. She enjoyed it!
Happy Birthday, Sweet Girl! You have brought an endless amount of joy to our lives! We love you tonies!

Gabby's first 2015 dance competition!

This year Gabby is a member of a competitive dance team at the girls' dance studio, South Tulsa Dance Co. THR!VE, the team, is a composed of several very talented dancers. Gabby is so excited to be part of such an extraordinary group of young ladies this year.

She competes in the mini division as a soloist and with her jazz group. Gabby and I spent last weekend in Bentonville, Arkansas, at the Masquerade competition. Gabby's lyrical solo was early Saturday morning so we spent the night on Friday. She did wonderfully at the competition. She earned a High Gold and we are so proud of her performance for her first time out this year.
The jazz mini group also earned High Gold and were terrific and sassy!

Below are some photos from our two days in Bentonville.

Right before she took the stage to perform Fly.
With her High Gold medal. Way to go, Gabby!
All sassy for the mini jazz group performance of Love Me Do.
A collage of the weekend. Full of fun and awesomeness!

Christina's surgery & Starting 2015 with Painted Piggies!

On Tuesday, December 30th, Christina underwent surgery to have a new set of tubes placed in her ears and to have her adenoids removed. Surgery was quick and she recovered wonderfully. She is a trooper without a doubt! Before the nurse took her back for surgery she gave her a valium type of medicine. It makes going back to surgery not so traumatic for all involved - I very much like that they do this because departing from a screaming baby before surgery sounds awful. Christina was so funny after she took the medicine. She sang and was very chill - some good drugs!

Relaxin' and making Mommy & Daddy giggle!
After surgery, to be expected, she was upset as the anesthesia wore off. We stopped on our way home and got a dozen donuts. This girl LOVES donuts! She ate one on the way home and a couple more throughout the day. :)

~WELCOME 2015~
Good moods all around on New Years Day! Daddy painted all of their toes! Great way to start 2015!
Christina's first painted piggies! She sat so still and loves having color on her feet. It's adorable!
