Gabriella's First Holy Communion

This weekend was truly special. Gabby received her First Holy Communion Saturday evening. She was blessed to have 15 family members in attendance for this important day. She looked beautiful! She was excited and nervous most of the day, but did a great job during Mass and receiving the Blessed Sacrament. We celebrated this milestone with a delicious dinner at a local restaurant and hosting Sunday brunch at our place before everyone left town. I took several photos throughout the day but here is a small portion:

Receiving the Body of Christ.
Receiving the Blood of Christ.

So proud of our daughter!

 Another special one.

After Mass, we had a dinner at Ti Amo Ristorante in one of their private rooms. It was a great dinner and evening with family celebrating a very special little girl and the big step she took in her faith journey.

Gabriella's cake, invitation, treasure box and First Communion banner on display.

Our celebratory dinner.
It's hard to believe our sweet Gabby received her First Holy Communion. Time really goes by quickly. We feel so blessed that our families were able to make it...several traveling great distances to be there. Gabby is fortunate to have the love of so many special people in her life.

Gabby's 5th Dance Competition!

This weekend Gabby competed in her 5th dance competition in Oklahoma City. She did wonderfully! She placed first in her category and first overall! We are so very proud of her! Her small groups placed 2nd & 6th in their mini division. Great weekend of competition!

This is when she went up to receive her first overall trophy. They asked her to say her name, the choreographer and studio. We were all thrilled! So proud!
They played a portion of her dance on the large TVs after announcing her as the overall winner.
Lots of hardware!

Easter Weekend

Happy Easter! He is Risen! We had a busy and fun weekend despite living in our smaller temporary home. Yesterday morning we colored eggs and then participated in our church's annual Easter egg hunt. The weather was beautiful and we all had a really good time!

This morning the sneaky Easter Bunny hid our baskets and the girls chowed down plenty of candy before 8 a.m.! We went to Mass and then brunch at Cedar Ridge CC. In the late afternoon we went to see the movie Home. It was Christina's first movie experience and she did a great! We are so proud of her!

Coloring eggs. This activity always goes a little quicker than we plan on. In 10 minutes they colored 18 eggs.
Hunting for eggs! We had beautiful spring weather yesterday.

The Bunny hid Christina's basket under the end table.
Gabby's was in the oven.
Adriana's was in the dryer.
Checking out their goodies and eating plenty of candy!
All ready for Mass.
Love her smile!
Miss Sassy!

After we saw the movie Home.
We had a very special Easter weekend. This is always one of my favorite weekends of the year because we focus on Jesus' sacrifice and love for us and the beginning of our Church.

Starting a New Chapter...

Well, it's old news but in case you don't know, David accepted a promotion in the fall with his employer. He is now the CEO of the Oklahoma Region. An incredible opportunity and very deserving!

However, this new position requires our family to relocate to Oklahoma City, which is an hour and a half from Tulsa. Back in the fall, we decided we would wait until after the school year to move our family as David would be working out of both offices for several months. But, we informed the girls of this upcoming change in the fall and as expected they were very sad. We are all still very sad to leave. This place feels like home and we have met wonderful people and families that we know we will stay connected with in the years ahead.

In the last two months, several pieces have fallen into place for this move. Our house went under contract in late February after just two weeks on the market. The following week we learned that the girls got into the Catholic school we had hoped and prayed they would be able to attend next year. A few weeks later we found a house in Oklahoma City that fits us very well, particularly with its location as it is very close to the girls' school and a convenient location to David's office Downtown. So, we are making progress as we close out the school year.

Today we closed on our house and a few days ago moved into corporate housing in Tulsa for the next two months. We close on our house in OKC in May.

Before we drove off from the house one last time, I took this picture on a very pretty April day...

We enjoyed this house very much the last 4 years. Several wonderful memories made as our baby girls grew up.
We will keep you posted with moving developments. Here's to new opportunities and new homes!

Adriana's Class Easter Egg Hunt

Today Adriana's PreK class had an Easter egg hunt at a local park. It was a very fun morning -- they hunted for eggs, walked around the grounds, which included a green house, arboretum and then a picnic lunch.

On the hunt!
With her loot.
She wanted me to take her picture with the pretty flowers. Love this girl!
Ring around the rosy with friends. Her class has so many darling children.
Lunch on the lawn.

It was a real pleasure to go on this field trip with Adriana. She has so many sweet friends and wonderful teachers. A great way to celebrate this special time of year!
