Cookies, Santa & St. Nicholas

We've been busy with preparations for Christmas. In the last week, we have started to make cookies and other treats. We also had breakfast with Santa at our church last Sunday; St. Nicholas visited us, too.

Making chocolate covered pretzels. Let's just say Adriana had a lot of fun and got her own bowl and pretzels.
Gabriella making vanilla covered pretzels, too. She is a cleaner baker.
This is fun! Make and eat sweets at the same time!
She's careful to do it just right. I wonder where her perfectionism comes from? :)
So precious! She loves visiting with Santa. Adriana wanted nothing to do with Santa on Sunday (she was a little more brave last time - see post from a few weeks ago). Only Gabby wanted to visit with him and share her Christmas wishes this time.

Yesterday was the feast of St. Nicholas. For those of you not familiar with this Christmas tradition, you can click on this link to read about his life and role in the Christian faith. We set out our shoes (or in this case boots) for St. Nicholas to bring us some surprises. On Monday night...

Tuesday morning!
He brought them The Muppets Chrismas Carol on DVD (Gabby is holding it), coloring books and art items.
Christmas shirts! Santa's little helpers.
Candy canes!
And jingle bells!
