We're having a fun summer so far...

Wow! Summer is off to a fun start! Here is a random sample of what we've been up to since late May:

SWIM LESSONS! Look at her fly! Adriana had four intense swim lessons and is now swimming with so much confidence! She swims completely under the water, successfully goes to a backfloat and does not need or want to use a flotation device. She loves that she has the ability to fully enjoy the water. It's amazing!

CHEER & DANCE CAMP! The first week in June Gabby attended a week-long cheer and dance camp at a high school here in the city. She had so much fun and did wonderfully!

CAPTIVA ISLAND! Enjoying a beautiful sunset. David had a very successful 2012 and UMB rewarded him with a trip to Captiva Island, Florida. We had a wonderful time! Thanks to our families we were able to enjoy our stay while our girls were well cared for. Christina Mary flew down with us and stayed with my mom in Naples while we were an hour away in Captiva. Nana and Aunt Bridget took care of Gabby and Adriana at our home. It worked out so well and everyone had a great time! :-)

DAY CAMPS! Heading off to day full of fun! Adriana attended summer play days at her preschool the first two weeks in June. She attended a couple days each week. At camp, they played in the splash pad on their playground and enjoyed arts and crafts that go along with a different theme each week. Gabriella attended a week-long Christian day camp the second week in June. It was most entirely outdoor where she spent time canoeing, swimming, learning archery, walking inclines, climbing a high swing and enjoying arts and crafts. She had a blast and was awarded with the BOLD award (for her fearless walk on the incline log and climbing to the top of the swing, and the FRIENDLY award for the way she was with her tribe all week long.) These awards are so fitting! 

SWIM MEETS! Gabby is on a summer swim team sponsored by the country club where we belong. She has had two meets so far this summer and has done very well. She is one of the youngest members of the team. This is her competing in the backstroke where she placed second.

Ribbons!

POOL TIME! We have been enjoying the swimming pool all summer! The girls love the water and the big girls really enjoy the fun slide. Gabby has pretty much mastered her front flip off the diving board and is now working on perfecting her dive off the board! Christina loves the water, too. She is so patient as we spend a couple hours at the pool a few times a week. She loves to watch her sisters play and snooze in the shade.
